I worked with the Strategy Director of a specialist insurance company over a period of two years.  We focused on developing his awareness, resilience and resolve so that he could deal more effectively with a number of challenges and changes taking place in his work, and think creatively about future opportunities.

The coaching sessions were conducted on the move, either cycling or walking across London.

I asked Kevin to describe his experience of working with me:

As a keen cyclist and walker, I was very interested in seeing whether Rowan’s approach to coaching, using movement as a way of facilitating conversations and generating new perspectives, could help me deal with a number of challenging situations.

I met up with Rowan for a number of coaching sessions that all involved cycling or walking in a range of locations. The sessions were structured exceptionally well and I found Rowan to be excellent at asking the right questions and encouraging me to think about issues from new angles.

Movement certainly helped – there is something about the repetitive action of walking or cycling, coupled with the fact that I was in a different environment, that frees up my brain and helped me think about challenges in a fresh way. By the end of our time working together I’d made significant progress in sorting out a number of challenging issues and had freed my mind up to think more creatively about the future.

All in all, an excellent and very rewarding experience!
